June 11 @ 8:00 am - August 31 @ 5:00 pm

To insure the ongoing health and safety of our students, the Academy will be adhering to safety measures outlined by the CDC and DOH (Department of Health) as follows:

  • Wellness and temperature checks for the instructors and students
  • Face coverings must be worn while in the dojang.
  • Enhanced cleaning of high-contact areas (handles, doorknobs, floor mats, equipment, etc.)
  • Enforcing social distancing
  • Frequent hand washing/sanitizing
  • Monitor public health indicators, and adjust orders and restrictions as necessary

Please carefully read these General Policies and Procedures as well as the class-specific Policies and Procedures that follow.  Students who fail to comply with all of these procedures/policies will not be allowed to participate.

General Policies and Procedures (applicable to all classes):

  • All instructors/students must wear face covering while in the dojang. Instructors and students must bring their own mask, WSAMA will not provide masks.
  • All instructors/students must sign a COVID-19 liability waiver. Click here to download waiver.
  • All instructors/students must bring their own water, or money to purchase (water = $.50, Gatorade = $1.00). The water fountain will be disabled.
  • Temperatures will be checked at the door. No one with an elevated temperature will be allowed to enter the dojang.
  • To help with social distancing, we have a max occupancy. To help us stay under this maximum number, only instructors and participating students should be in the dojang during class.  Anyone not involved in the class must wait outside.  This includes parents as well as students arriving for the next class.
  • Students should leave promptly after their class to help with social distancing.
  • No partner skills/drills such as fighting techniques, hapkido, judo, and sparring, will be practiced unless it’s with a household member, preferably also a student.
  • Until further notice, no sparring classes will be offered. Classes that were previously sparring, will be regular martial arts classes.
  • All classes will end 5 minutes early to allow for the cleaning of the equipment
  • See below for class-specific policies and procedures:

Children’s classes Policies and Procedures:

  • All students must follow all of the general policies and procedures stated above.
  • A parent or guardian must sign a COVID-19 waiver before student is allowed to participate.  Click here to download waiver.
  • Children’s class students are limited to one class per day (due to class sizes and social distancing)
  • Children should come dressed in their Gi and not change in the changing room.
  • Parents must wait outside during class.  Due to social distancing, we have a maximum number of people allowed in the dojang.
  • Parents should not “drop-off and leave” until their child has received the OK to take class.  It is possible that your child will not be able to take class due to presenting a temperature or due to the maximum student count.
  • Children’s class students may not be helpers.
  • Students must leave the building promptly after class to allow instructors to clean the equipment.
  • At all times, students must practice social distancing.
  • At all times, students must practice the Jung Sim Do tenets.  This is especially important during this time.  Students who are not following the instructors’ directions and all of our new policies will not be allowed to participate in class.

Adults’ classes Policies and Procedures:

  • All students must follow all of the general policies and procedures stated above.
  • Students should come dressed in their Gi and not change in the changing room.
  • Students must leave the building promptly after class to allow instructors to clean the equipment.
  • At all times, students must practice social distancing.

Cardio class Policies and Procedures:

  • All students must follow all of the general policies and procedures stated above.
  • At all times, participants must practice social distancing.
  • To aid with social distancing, there will be a cap to the number of participants in the class.
  • We will be using the Wave Masters instead of hand targets and shields.  Participants will work alone unless from the same household.

All the above provisions are subject to change as CDC and DOH policies are modified.

We sincerely care about the health and well-being of our students, instructors and the greater WSAMA community. We greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation as we do our best transitioning to our “new normal”.
