The West Shore Academy of Martial Arts (WSAMA) first opened its doors to the public in 1982 under the instruction of Kwan Jung Nims Brian Butt and George Knoll. Their school's legacy passed on to their students Vince Vergara and Tom Brunner, in 1992. Master Vergara is presently the Academy’s chief instructor. A member of the National Association of Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA) and Martial Arts Teachers Association (MATA), the WSAMA is always on the cutting edge of student service, student progress and the development of the martial arts spirit. Our Mission Statement summarizes our purpose:
In conjunction with our duties as a member of the U.S. Jung Sim Do Federation, students and prospective students can be assured that their martial arts experience with the WSAMA will be second to NONE!
"Master Vergara...Thank you for all that you have done for me in the past 6 years. You have helped me to see my true potential as a person and as a martial artist." Eric Strack, 1st Dan Black Belt
